Reminisce With Gordie and Holly

"Come set a spell" at the library on Saturday, May 21, at 11:00 AM, to relax and enjoy a look into the local past with C. Gordon Porter of the Barker/Lyndonville area, and Holly Ricci-Canham of Albion. They'll share some stories, too. Mr. Porter will also be bringing a selection of his paintings, which show a remarkable talent he has only just recently brought forth. If you like, you may purchase a copy of these authors' books of local interest. Look back to days gone by with us!
Super Saturday Programs for All!

The Library is thrilled to present these outstanding performances, corurtesy of Young Audiences of Western New York, in these Free programs designed for children ages 5 and up, teens, and adults! Each program is approximately 45 minutes in length.
Saturday, May 14 at 11:00 AM: "Exploring Jazz" with Ladies First Jazz Combo, is a highly interactive program that will introduce you to the elements of jazz and let you try some of the sounds yourself!
Saturday May 28 at 11:00 AM: "Mary Jemison" as portrayed by Gretchen Murray Sepik. Imagine yourself as a brother or sister to young Mary Jemison in the 1700s as she is captured by the Senecas and acclimates to their culture for the rest of her life.
Saturday, June 4th at 11:00 AM: BUILD with Marissa Lehner." Bringing learning to life through the arts,children ages 8-16 will be encouraged to express their knowledge through hands-on creative projects.
Let Your Flag Proudly Wave: Join in the Library's Memorial Day Weekend Fundraiser

Become part of a display of American flags on the Lyndonville Central School lawn to honor the special people in your life. A "Field of Flags" will appear over the 2016 Memorial Day weekend, providing a stunning backdrop to the Village of Lyndonville's service at Veteran's Memorial Park.
A 3'x5' embroidered-star and sewn-stripes American flag (made in the USA), including pole and sturdy bracket, can be purchased with a $50 donation to Yates Community Library. A tag will be attached to each flag with your specified dedication and your name, and the flags will be displayed on the school lawn near the Johnson Creek dam from friday, May 27th to Memorial Day, Monday, May 30.
