Adult Programs
The Library is more than just books! We serve as a place for folks to gather, learn, share, and discuss what interests them. We welcome your suggestions for programs you’d like us to consider presenting, and if you would like to share a hobby or area of your expertise, please let us know!
Ongoing Programs:
Renegade Readers Book Club
- For adults and older teens
- Meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:00 PM
- New members always welcome!
Are you a free thinker? Don’t like restrictions in your reading choices? Excited to get lots of varied book recommendations? Then this is the group for you! At the conclusion of each meeting, the next month’s “assignment” is randomly chosen from members’ prepared suggestions. It might be to select any book on a certain subject, or for group members to read different books by the same author, or something more unusual; for instance, “read a book with a red cover.” Or, just as welcome, members can tell the group about ANY book they’re reading.
Topic for our May 6th meeting : A Book by Michael Connelly, or book with police/lawyers
Summer Concerts in the Park
- For many years, the Library has sponsored free outdoor concerts, usually on Monday evenings, of all sorts of live music right outside the library in Veterans Park. Bring yourself, your family, a blanket or lawn chairs, a picnic perhaps, and enjoy the sounds and the picture-perfect setting by the water. This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the office of the GovernorĀ and the New York State Legislature and administered by GO ART!
